What would you do if you could financially retire tomorrow? Travel? Learn something new? Buy things you will use only once? If you could do anything tomorrow, what would you do?
I am sure that some of you are saying: “Well, what do you mean?” Most of you have no idea what would you do. Or you think about something superficial, that is not actually what you really want.
Truth is, we have no idea the outcome we might get if that would be the case. Looking to lottery winners, statistically, most of them are broke after a few years. They have nothing more than before winning.
You can’t financially retire because you will always try to do something.
Another truth is, most of us don’t know what we would do. I know this: I would continue investing, saving doing what I like. Maybe travel more. But there is no such thing as doing nothing, because you will soon start to feel useless. If you don’t bring any value for anyone or anything, well, you are not happy, no matter how much money you have.
So, go try and find an equilibrium between what are you good at and what do you like spending your time doing. No matter how much money you have, no matter if you declare yourself retired, well, there is no such thing. Financially retired means just a chance to do the things you like most or find out what you actually like doing, when you actually don’t know what that is.
